Expanding Access to Quality, Affordable Healthcare
- Cutting Red Tape to Increase Access to Healthcare: Facilitated the opening of new healthcare facilities in rural areas, improving access to care for underserved populations.
- Investment in Mental Health: Over $150 million invested in the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health, focusing on expanding mental health services and supporting recovery initiatives.
- Improved Maternal and Infant Care: Created a new program for remote health services and home visits for high-risk pregnancies, eliminated Medicaid waiting periods, funded home visits in rural areas, extended postpartum coverage, and increased payments to OB/GYNs to better support expecting mothers.
